Episode 102: Cankles of the Omnissiah
The second Adeptus Mechanicus codex is out, and it’s time to talk all things mechanical and Martian (that aren’t Skitarii). In this episode, the Preferred Enemies crew reviews Codex: Cult Mechanicus. Does this short codex contain a full army? How does it mix with Skitarii, its codex-in-arms? How does the army-wide rule compare? Would we splash it into something else? Also, we’ve got a lot of other content this time. We re-examine a piece of wargear from the Imperial Knight codex, discuss a listener’s comment about Knight armies and the take-all-comers list, give away a ticket to the Iron Halo GT, and interview Jason Horn of the Iron Halo GT. All this, and hobby progress too! It’s a packed episode!

I’ve listened to/watched a few different reviews of the Cult Mechanicus codex, and maybe it’s my interpretation, but I think people are missing a key rule when it comes to the conversion field. The bearer of the conversion field which triggers the blind test would be the “attacker”. According to the Blind SR, “Should the attacking unit hit themselves…they automatically pass the test.” I think this is pertinent since a lot of the reviewers recommend against using it being afraid of blinding the bearers unit when the rules state otherwise. Am I missing something? What’s your opinion?
