Episode 97: Know Your Slot Redux – Elites
This week, we continue our revisit of the Know Your Slots series by examining the Elites slot, the most catch-all of all the slots. From Assault Centurion to Zoanthrope, how do you categorize such a diverse slot? Are the units worth their points? With formations and alternate detachments, are Elites even a thing anymore? We try to answer these and other questions as we take a look at the middle child of 40K slots. Also, we look at our pre-release thoughts on Codex: Khorne Daemonkin, sneak a peak at the upcoming Skitarii kits, and examine the new army cases from Games Workshop. All this, and hobby progress too, some of it done in studio!

Great show guys! I’ve been listening for over a year now after my return to the hobby and really like the know your slot concept. It would be great to see a bit more depth in these sections rather than a review. Also I would love it if after these know your slot episodes are complete please think about doing a “now the dust has settled” episode to revisit codexes some time after release to review their strengths in the meta. For example I would love to hear your opinions on how the Ork codex or BA shape up in the context of the current landscape of 40k after all the codexes have been re-done. In particular your opinions as a TO are great insights into the gaming scene as it is now! Keep up the good work definitely the best 40k podcast available. Please don’t go the way of independent characters.
“Know your Slot” gets me every time I read it. Sounds like a Sex Ed class.
