Episode 150: 7th Edition – The Good, The Bad, and the Weird
The end of 7th Edition is upon is, and it’s also our 6th Anniversary episode! That means it’s time to dredge a concept out of the vault and revisit it – the Good, the Bad, and the Weird! We take a look back at 7th Edition and pick out units that were either awesome, terrible, or just kind of missed the mark and were left in an odd spot. Also, we delve into the data dump that GW has been dropping on us about 8th edition and the image it’s painting of the game. Interesting times are ahead, so let’s take this moment to both look back at what was and look forward to what will be! All this, plus listener mail and our last pre-Midwest Conquest update!

I like your podcast keep up the great work.
Hello I would like you guys to use Missouri Gamers and Midwest Gamers as a platform for your content. I am trying to collect a lot of Midwest 40k content and ITC events. They are not huge , but I expect them to keep growing. I hope that MIssouri Gamers alone will have about 1000 subscribers by the end of the year. Potentially 4000 on Midwest Gamers.

On Invulnerable saves:
The Q&A guys were talking about Invulnerable saves being a fixed save that ignores modifiers, that take over once an Armour save is reduced enough.
For example, if a model has a 2+/5++ save and is hit by an AP-4 weapon, then the model gets its 5++ Invulnerable save in place of its 6+ Amour save.
On a side note, absolutely glued to your podcast here in Oz. Love how reasoned and grounded all your discussions are, keep it up!
SOME armies in 7th worked the way they were intended. As I play Tyranids, the only thing that worked was Flyrant spam and Forgeworld units, so they didn’t play the way the fluff described them at all. Same goes for my other army, Chaos Marines. If you used actual Chaos Marine units you were gimping yourself from the start
